Hey everyone,

I was just browsing my site's presence online and found a good 20 pages of my website listed in Google that I did not want on there ... and about half of these are non-existent. And about 5 more of these pages I was going to change their file name for SEO purposes.

What is the simplest way to redirect the non-existent and name-changed sites to their proper locations? I have access to the htaccess file, I just can't find the line of code. I'll need to do this for about 20 pages, too... so hopefully it won't lag my site?

placing a robots.txt file on your site saying what they can and cant index may help.

If I do that now will it de-index it?

I didn't really think ahead when I was creating my site's pages or how I would utilize them in the future.

Other than robots.txt, how do I redirect users from, let's say: "lots-of-random-information.html" to "web-design-tips.html"

Just let the files return a 404 response they'll drop out of the index.

Changing pages names for "SEO reasons" is a pointless task there is really no value in the URL for SEs.
