Hey everyone,

I found this question on another forum I frequent. The forum is business oriented, without the focus of web related stuff like we have here, I figured this would be the place to get a good answer.

Hello.

Images really helps to searching the keywords. Image should be according to content and we can optimized the image according to related keywords with alt text.

I personally think it's no big deal...
The traffic you get from Google Images won't do you any good...because very few people actually reach your site...mostly of them go directly for the image

I've bookmarked a few posts about images and seo at Delicious over the years. You may find them interesting.

I'd have to agree that a lot of people just want the images. Even if they do click through to your site, it's likely only the image they want. Still some of those people may check out your page and site beyond the image. How you optimize images might also play a part in how much traffic the page pulls from the general search results.

Super helpful responses. Do you think these answers still hold if the page is an authority for images on a particular topic? That is, there are multiple photos on the page for the particular image topic being searched?

Also, does anyone have any stats on the percentage of image viewers that actually spend time on the page that contains the image in their search?

When your putting a photo it is good if you put a title to it and a link. The link may be your website. That would be helpful.
