It's just an acronym for "Reputation Management" with an "Online" thrown in for good measure.
It's just a shame that the hosting shills and forum sig spammers don't think about their "reputation" before posting newbie questions.
SEO is one part of MARKETING
So-called "reputation management" is also part of marketing
AND Publishing well written, quality material on a given subject is part of building a reputation
Unfortunately most "experts" publish ancient, inaccurate drivel thus gaining exactly the wrong kind of reputation.
