I haven't been able to find much clear information on this topic. I know that having a mobile version of a website increases traffic by advertising a mobile friendly website.

My question is with instant mobilizer services. I have used these services on my site and it seems to work fine. My concern is that since it is simply a "processed" version (via DNS) of my original site, will the mobile site have a separate description in a search engine like Google? Like when my search result come up, will the .mobi version appear for mobile devices? Or will only the .com appear since they are the same site and the mobi is just a conversion? If not, is there any way to give the .mobi version its own description so it will show up in search results?

The benefits are that I only maintain one version. The .mobi version is pretty new (as is the .com version) so I assume it wouldn't appear in Google for another week, but what are your experiences?

Are instant mobilizer mobi sites just as good as whole sites that are purely mobi or is there even a difference in terms of SEO?

Does the instant mobilizer version have a separate .mobi version in the search engines? Or will it assume it is the same as the .com since it is just converted via dns?

.mobi is nothing special and does not mean that a site is going to be "mobile ready"

It's merely a TLD for use in the Domain Name System (DNS) to route HTTP, SMTP and other protocols.

AND unless this "Instant Mobilizer" is going to recode your website to make it fit onto the very many screen resolutions, it is simply another scam!

Another thing, if you look at conversion rate through mobile phones, Sales for example, it would be below 2% (I'm not talking about mobile applications. I'm talking about cold hard sales)

Mobile browsers do not successfully support SSL and Flash. Take iphone for example. So I really think that having a mobile version for a 'regular' website is a waste.

I understand, but the site doesn't sell anything. It just offers free information. My only hope with the ads is to break even on hosting costs.
