Hi,

I launched my new website about 2 month's ago. Many people added links on they website to my website, so the linkbuilding was growing fast.

In three weeks I received about 700 visitor's from google and now only 30!

I think this is a Sanbox effect because my pages are still in Google and I can find my website on the keyword 'checkwebsiteworth.com',

checkwebsiteworth.com
checkwebsiteworth.nl (the most visitor's)

My question, for how long was your website in the Google Sandbox?

See here how my statistics going down: http://freshcoat.nl/ga.jpg

I hope someone can help me or give me some information

Regards,

Nicky

I think your site is not sandboxed since it is already in the index of G. Maybe it was slapped by G and thrown to lower ranks. This might due to the fast accumulation of links. It will be back to the SERPs Im sure but how long? Only Google knows.

@eimroda,

Thx for you replay. I was thinking the same about the fast growing incoming links. There were some big websites who created hole topic's about my website.

Wrong wrong WRONG!!!!!

there is NO "sandbox", and there is NO "penalty" for building links "too fast"

It simply takes time, new sites/pages ALWAYS appear on "page one" for all kinds of words or phrases then drop back to the oblivion they actually belong UNTIL they have earned a place in the results.

While Google sandbox is not something you can control, there are certain steps you can take in order to make the sandbox effect less destructive for your new site. As with many aspects of SEO, there are ethical and unethical tips and tricks and unethical tricks can get you additional penalties or a complete ban from Google, so think twice before resorting to them. The unethical approaches will not be discussed in this article because they don comply with our policy.

All though the effectiveness of these methods is not guaranteed, some people claim they work.

Method One: Join Google Adwords or Adsense Programs. Google seems to have different spiders for adsense / adwords and general site crawling but it is widely believed that subscribing to the adsense/adwords programs gets your pages spidered in minutes even by its search related spiders.

Method Two:The most widely used, this method involves purchasing an old domain for its longevity and back links.

The best way to fight out of the sandbox is to keep building links...many people take the exact opposite approach and simply wait to get out. If you keep obtaining high PR valued links your site will get out of the sandbox much quicker than if you did nothing.

Hmm lets say you get a link from a site with high alexa rating will that make the process faster or do you just need sites with lots of page ranks? I have my site that will be live shortly so would love to know how to go about it thanks in advance chris.. lol

chrishirst is right. There is no such thing as a "sandbox" at Google. I have heard Matt Cutts in person on several occasions say that there may be the "illusion" of a sandbox, but none really exists.

Instead, as chrishirst said it's actually the opposite. Rather than being "sandboxed" for months, new sites/URLs get a boost initially. Many people call it the Google honeymoon. Then after a few days or weeks, those URLs that were artificially boosted to page 1 fall FAR back into the SERPs where they should have been all along.

Forget about this Sandbox altogether and go about your business as usual. There's nothing wrong in getting links fast. If you have a good network of people who would link, there's nothing Google or anyone do about it.

Give it some time. You'd get where you really belong to on the SERPs.

Well there is no fix time after which your site will get out of the effect of the sanbox. But surely it can take some time like may a couple of months but the condition is that you have to build quality links on a regular basis.

I don't think you website is in sandbox because there is no penalty for building backlinks very fast.

If building links too fast could get your website "sandboxed" then webmasters would be "sandboxing" their competitors using this method. Google is not that stupid.
