Site wide link building has always lured SEO community to harvest page rank juice but after the drastic page rank update from Google, webmasters have become vary of whether they should link out to related website on a site-wide basis or not.

The theory that i hold on this issue is that, If your links are constant on the whole website then google understands that the the block is constant, and it attributes the draining of page rank to on page content rather than navigation or footer links.

So if your links are relevant then you should not fear to add links as a block on the navigation as it would add value to your website in terms of hub nature.

You CANNOT lose PR from linking out. Obviously the more links you have (outgoing) the less relevant they become (doesn't matter anymore if they are no-follow, PR still get split evenly for all links). It has long been shown that linking out to relevant content is actually helpful to your site, not hurtful....

wesley, when your spamming always remember to put in a fake line so people think it is your signature, here is an example.

Pretty sure wiki would be one of the worlds busiest sites if they halved all the links on pages, sadly they will forever be an unknown quantity by the majority of the world due to having too many links per page, still, at least now we know why they failed so miserably I suppose, thanks wesley.
