I was just wondering about alt attribute’s value on an image. What do you guys think about it? I wanted some feedback on the same. As far as the overall density of the page is concerned, do you think alt attribute contributes to it? I think it does contribute to the calculation. I guess it is one of the components of w3c standards. One way of increasing the keyword density of a page is by placing keywords in the alt attribute. However, avoid keyword stuffing. Alt attribute is used as an alternative text in case the image is not available.

From the seo point of view alt tag on image is very important.
You are promote your keyword as well as logo/image through this tag.

The alt tag can be used to give an actual description of the image. In most of the cases the image is related to your keywords. So this will add one bit relevancy to your keywords. Alt attribute enhances the browsing experience. It will increase your keyword density. And it will provide valuable information to the visitors.

true, its what alt attribute about..
but then image optimization has a good impact in SEO means..

I just love it when ppl use the phrase "alt tag". It makes me want to tell them to go back and look at their HTML very closely.

Anyway, this is one of my weak spots. I catch myself doing a little KW stuffing from time to time using the alt attribute. Never do that. Use different KWs when utilizing the alt attribute.
