I am checking my backlinks in google by writing link:www.sitename.com and results is 300 and when I check like link: www.sitename.com I get 80000 results.
Plz share your ideas with me what is the difference between this two searches and also reason for the same.
link: www.sitename.com is not a valid google command to check backlinks that's why the results is not accurate.

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds
Thought for today:- Is SEO the only industry where all the cowboys are Indians?
Link:www.sitename.com shows you a SAMPLE of your back links, and may even include links not counted toward your rankings.
Link: www.sitename.com is a valid search but not a valid command. It is search for URLs that are relevent to link: or www.sitename.com (or more than likely link: or www or sitename or com).
As far as I know.. sitemap dot com cannot give you a accurate results in checking your backlinks.. Knowing that it is not a valid google command to check backlinks...
