Recently, I had installed a DHTML drop down menu on my client’s site. He doesn’t care about SEO. All he wants is eye-catching and creative design. However, while I was working on his site, I thought how it will affect his site in terms of SEO. I want to know whether DHTML format is good for SEO purpose or not. Is this similar to HTML? My partner told me that this is like a hidden flash menu. Are these formats along with JS and Java application recommended for optimizing a site? Can anyone offer me an online guide or tutorials to learn about SEO web design?

This is where site maps (HTML ones) are invaluable. If the menu REQUIRES javascript to make it visible rather than using javascript for functionality, you MUST provide an alternative navigation for js disabled user agents.

These things make your website so much heavy but Google has define some certain way to use these program in order to make your website fit for SEO as well.
