I have started a website 6 months ago and since then i have been trying hard to generate some useful traffic for my website through social bookmarking, comments on websites, back links building, search engine optimization and producing unique quality content. Some websites that are new have reached top 50,000 rank in alexa without having proper content and layout. Anybody suggest the deficit i have in my site that pulls it back from ranking higher in alexa although i have been ranked in top 5 google searches for some keywords i tried still i have almost no traffic. Any body wanna suggest remedial action. My website is

One thing you have to ask yourself is what makes your website different or more appealing than the millions of other blogs/websites out there?

What can someone find on your site that they may not find elsewhere?

What does your website have that will continue to bring users back to your website?

Forget about Alexa......that is not getting you any traffic...
If your K/W is not something that people actually are trying to find...no one will go to your site....
High SERP for low competition K/W is not hard to do...but low traffic is normally the end result....

If you want to get good traffic than effort to raise your website keyword ranking, your popular keyword should be top ten in major search engine.

Focus more in ranking your sites. Organic traffic is much more effective than referral ones.

In addition to that, you can look for more powerful keywords, maybe your keywords are not that competitive.

So what is your site about? Are you sure there's demand for the topic? If the topic is generic, perhaps consider finding a niche and specialise in that topic.

The posts above assume you've nailed a good topic and there's demand for it. However there may be problems with this assumption. Can you describe your site seeing as though a moderator has deleted the link; or perhaps just post the domain name so that the parser doesn't turn it into a link...

Download alexa toolbar and get about 10 of your mates to download and you to can be in alexas top 50k websites, it really is that simple, albeit a total waste of time.

You said you ranked to 5 on Google searches on your keywords. But you did not mentioned what were the keywords used. Even though you ranked high on your keyword search on Google it does not mean that many people are searching using that keyword. Try to evaluate the value of your keywords again if they have good amount of searches per day.
Good Luck!

There are lot of thing that you have to consider to get a good traffic towards your site. Only by launching a site is will not generate a good traffic. One thing which is best to generate traffic is SEM, SMO and SMM.

I suggest to find other resources and vary the use of marketing avenues.

They are fine I know but it would be more efficient if it is an organic traffic. That means people are looking for your site.

Do you have rankings on important keywords defining your services. I mean, hope you are not working on the wrong keywords. Try to generate back links in websites having good PRs. This would help a lot.

If you are rank well in SERP but you didn't get any traffic.it means your keyword selection process is not well. and your selected keywords have no low traffic means no one can search your keyword.

It may feel like an eternity to you, but 6 months isn't REALLY that long. It can take months (if not longer) for you to build some SEO momentum.

Don't pay too much attention to Alexa. If you're ranking well in Google, the traffic will come.

However, in the meantime, you need to ask yourself (objectively and honestly) why people aren't visiting your site. Are you targeting the right keywords? Is the content you're publishing off-site making a good impression? After all, bad content is not going to draw in visitors. How competitive is your niche? All of these factors could be leading to your traffic problems.

If you send people to your site based on a specific K/W or phrase...that is just as good maybe even better......
