Even though Google has officially said that only a small percentage of sites have search ranking effected in any way by load time performance, there still seems to be a lot of SEO's making big noises about improving load times for the sake of rankings.

So anyway, do you check your site load performance scores?

You know what they say about empty vessels!!!!

Basically they have something new to twitter on about while making themselves sound clued up.

We use YSlow and Pagespeed in our web development process, only because it makes sense to get the website to load smoothly.

Also we have clients that complain that the website does not load fast, and these tools provide us with a way of proving that it is their internet connection, and not our web design.

WhichLoadsFaster is also a fun tool for doing
head to head load time comparisions.

Result times can vary a bit though so it might be
best to take the average of a few runs.

I don't thin load speed is an important factor for ranking results on Google at least now. Its better to have a high speed website but its not a much. It's only my idea.

I do believe on what they said that website loading speed is a factor in having good SERP; but it is just of many factors that Google is considering.

It is better if you consider speed for website. The reason is the visitor will not wait for longer time on website. It will lower your preference for revisit by any visitor.

I kinda like your approach. When I first started, I was all agog about this Yslow thingy but later on, it just wore off.
