While I was looking for new inspirations for my new site,
I found this website on the first page when I search “creative website” Google www creativewebsiteawards.com, I found its PR is 5!

How amazing! There is only one page in this site, as if this is a parked domain!

There are only about ten links linking to this site, the Alexa Rank is around 1 million, really amazing!

Who can explain this for me?

There is one more example.

The site “insuranceweb.com” is similar, only one page, like a parked domain, but gets PR 3!!

I really cannot understand… Can anybody help me understand?

what tool did you use in checking the back links?maybe its too old and gain reputation during the time its live until it got parked.

Actually it's because you are just looking at things that do not matter in the slightest.

And of course, the website has been around some fourteen years collecting links and reputation.

You have searched the name of that domain and of course you see in on top results. When you search the exact name of any domain, in most cases you see the domain which have these keywords on the first page. Its natural

I check on the site that you said, and you told that there were only about ten links linking to that site. As I check the site in backlinkwatch.com I found out that It has 396 total backlinks and when I check it's link popularity I found out that it has 13 google organic. Maybe that explains it all why it is in 1st page result for that keyword.

Google always update pagerank,
so when the page is active before and many people are making links to it, it got so many backlinks that make the webpage got PR when google update pagerank

I guess you don't "see" really, well unless you have a time machine and can go back fourteen or fifteen years and launch a popular site before the Internet gets commercial and overcrowded.
