Do you mean you don't want to write a description tag?

Usually if there is no meta tag, the search engines will generate something from the first section of text they come across.

Actually they will make the text snippet from text ANYWHERE on the page where the keywords or phrase are found.

They crawl a lot more than that, the same page can be show on search results with different descriptions depending on the search query.

It is always recommended to write a meta description and tags of a website which help crawlers to locate the keywords and rank you accordingly.
