Does anyone known if S.E.'s pick up QR Codes and understand them
No they do not!
QR codes like barcodes, are an optical technology and as yet, unlike their real world namesakes, SE "spiders" do not have eyes. singular, stereoscopic or multiple (up to eight) capable of barcode scanning.
