If I use the plural version in my site Ex -> "Attorneys" - will I get credit for having "attorney" in my content as well or does the SE pick up on the fact is was used as the plural version>?

I dont really think it get so much credit even it does. I've tried it before and I didnt see any benifits for my singular keyword to a plural form.

Well, it really depends. You should look at the search volume of the keywords. But generally, singular keywords are much more competitive. More people type in singular keywords in search box.

Good one there mate! Think this might (I'm really hoping here) rest the singular/plural crap.

For writing content you should use variations of your keywords through synonyms, singular-plural variations. In general use Keyword Stemming in your content. Try to search on Google ~mobile and you will see what Google interpret for term mobile=Wireless Cell Phone, Cell, Nokia, Portable, GSM, Mobile Phone

Similarly search on Google ~mice and you will see what Google interpret for term mice=mouse, Rat, Rats, rodents.

People here are so ignorant that they just reply and make fun of others without having the in-depth knowledge.

I think that's completely different, if being concise on searching the words is the concern i guess it is being define differently from a singular to a plural keyword.

You must use the both forms of a word. Google searches the synonyms and singular / plural forms of a keyword. In this way is able to know what is about related the page.

yes definitely it would be useful, i have optimized many sites on these type of plural keywords and i got good benefit. but let me explain you one trick, you must follow it, if you are using attorneys then you should market the attorney as anchor text keyword. this combination will give you the fruitful results.
