I was checking up on some of my articles that I placed on article directories, just to find out if some people were using them on their sites. Something I saw drew my attention. There was a website that had pages and pages of titles of articles and had the first paragraph copied of each article and then a link going back to GoArticles.com or Yahoo Answers.
I looked more closely at his site and found that he had over 8,000 pages. For every page there were about seven to ten articles (again, each article had a paragraph with a link going back to either of the two sources). The site had a lot of google ads so I know that he was trying to make money off of this (I'm not blaming him) - but here's my question. Would his pages be unique if they had seven different articles on one page / with each article that had a paragraph copied from the original source?
Surely, this is a fast way to get a lot of pages on your site and none of it would have to be your own work. Also, I believe GoArticles - you can take articles from this site and post it on yours. Not sure if there is a limit though.
Are you thinking of "scraping" content from other sites yourself? I'd be surprised if the website owner gets more the 5 cents a click, or that any of these pages rank well in the SERPs.
From your statement its really alarming, knowing that his intention is get profit for it knowing that hes using somebody else property of articles. But i think this is not an illegal cause what he just did on his site is a kind of portal to other link of articles.
I don't think his page is unique. Just from my personal point of view, search engines should only consider a certain percentage of uniqueness as unique. And "Unique" means different from anywhere else... Correct me if I'm wrong.

is they put some link back to your site that would be better because you benefit from it but if not its a bad thing to do.

I think they are using any kind of auto publishing softwares.. They have made those websites just for earning money from Google Adsense. If they have give link back to your articles then it is OK otherwise contact to the owner of that website.

unique is not necessarily the original text, here is a combination of problems, no matter which combination, as long as the content and form have a 40% differentwith others ,it is unique.
