Usually, long tailed keywords have low search query compare to broad keywords. But, they are much easier to rank in search engines since they have low number of compeititors. That is why it is wise to rank lots long tailed keywords while targeting a broad keyword.

It is true long tail keyword are easier to be ranked in search engine, but you need to be wise

If the keyword have 3 searches a day, your site CAN get 3 visitors a day, but what if your site are not clicked at all on that 3 searches

If your are wise enough, long tail keyword can be really helpful
