Hello friends,
I have been doing the on page seo and off page seo but I don't get much traffic lately.
For on page seo, I use good keywords, meta description tag, alt tags, updated content, etc.
For off apge seo, I use articles to submit to article directories and submit my blogs to social bookmarking sites.
What do I miss?

So called "Off page" is PROMOTION.

And there is no such thing as alt "tags"

Basically all of the above strategies have back links to your site, but the real important thing is the part you do not do too quickly. If you take this process slowly and thoroughly, and the right way can make your Web site.

Off page is has to follow in percentage language other wise you get spam by google and it will really bad for your site as well as it affect your ranking as well.

You missed lots of things in off page optimization like blog comments, forum postings, link exchange etc.

social networking
RSS Feed
video sharing
classified ads
blog commenting
profile submission
answers communities

Yes do your work slowly but if you want your work looks like a natural then rotate your target keywords as anchor text.

But do you a off pages submission a limit as a daily 50 to 70 directory, 20 to 30 article post etc,
Web Directories,
forum posting with signature,
social bookmarking with profile
social networking on build up interactive profile
RSS Feed created & submission
If you have video uploaded and sharing social net working sites.
local classified web directory in post ads
Create blog and submit on bookmark micro blogging and post a comment
Web site profile submission (Business Listings)
Enjoy a life ! ! ! ! !

Most of the time, the problem lies in the selection of keywords that you are targeting. If you choose keywords with moderate amount of searches, plus easy competition for the first page (PR rank, Keywords in Title, age of domain, etc), then on-page SEO and a little bit of backlinking should already be enough.

Well if in Off Page activities you are doing the only mentioned activities then you are missing many activities like Forum Posting, Blog Commenting, Press Release and many more.

Forum posting blog commenting,and pressrelease really helps site promotion. Choose the only relevant category for submissions,almost all the Forms allow you to leave signature, or link in the post or reply with dofollow.Choose the dofollow blogs for submission.

No Duplicate Articles in Directories
Do Not Do Same Title For Social Bookmarks

These are where many people screw up. But do some youtube videos and do a bit of everything.

i would try free press releases, great way to get your links out, you can post 1 release on 100 sites a month for instance, and sources like pr urgent get syndicated as well
