I have been through numerous articles on the internet for SEO(Search Engine Optimization) as many other wanna-be Internet Entrepreneurs. After working on SEO for the past 10 months, I have been unsuccessful. I really feel that for anything that is posted in a forum, is search engine optimization really required, well lets forget the meta tags, static links, etc. They are necessary. I mean generating content that really engages users.
The main point of starting a forum is people posting their problems when they do not find answers on search engines. So if somebody posts on a forum, he/she has a query for which there is no answer available via search also. I heard once (in 2007) a Business Tycoon say that the search market is only 20% utilized, wonder if his claims were true.
People would come to your forum to post only when they do not get answers anywhere. So, I personally feel that creating content for forums is based mainly on the visitors. As an admin how much content would one create. But again if your forum remains empty, a visitor coming to your site would not bother to post anything as he/she would feel “Such a useless forum, no one visits it!!!”. So a webmaster has to really optimize between leaving the community to itself and generating content (Basics of Computer Science…Try and optimize.). I want to share my experience with you all guys as working on my website is really fun. Its not about any money that I am currently generating. It’s a brainchild I am very much attached with. I wish to see it provide answers to questions of each and every human being. I hope I get somewhere  |
