Hello webmaster talkers I just have a question and it's really bugging me
since I am not satisfied with the answer that Google gave me. In our
website we have a good keywords rankings but the traffic and bounce rate is
not good. Now the question is if your website keywords is ranking in TOP 10
can it generate a good traffic? Or there are still things to consider? May
I know your opinions regarding this? Thanks a bunch in advance

Hi,

Although high ranking in SERPs does matter a lot but still this is the only thing to be considered, other matters are quality and related content, also it should be original and unique, your design of site, color scheme, internal navigation and etc actually these are the things which will develop a trust of user for your domain and once it will be done then they will advertise you by themselves.

traffic of the website if let us say Keyword1 is ranking in Top 5?
Can it generate a good traffic even though you are not
doing other techniques except for let us say blog commenting?

I know personally that when I look for a keyword on Google I read the descriptions when before I click the link. So human friendly descriptions and content matter a whole lot at least in my opinion. You know when you do SEO copywriting you use keyword saturation but when you write for people you use a lot of synonyms instead of using the same word over and over. Because lets face it people get board at least adults. If you are targeting kids repetition is good that's why DR Seuse books still sell. Repetition of keywords or phrases can be benificial or detrimental.

Just my opinion. Don't bet all of your chips on it.

It is going to depend on the number of people that actually search for your K/W....
You could rank high for monkey snot......but are people looking for that..
So ranking with the wrong K/W is a bomb....

Also a pretty good point. I have #1 keywords for things like my name. But I noone looks for me.

Just try to focus on your longer-tail keywords that aren't necessarily getting the highest searches per month. Those can be too competitive.

Maybe the keyword that you've gotten a high SERP isn't a keyword that people used to search for on search engines.

Try researching on what keywords people use to search for content on Google before you start optimizing your websites,

Thanks for your reply. Actually we based the keywords on the
relevancy of our website and also the volume of searches.

thanks for sharing good information about it. In my view that if your many keyword ranking top 5 position that is not possible that you will get high traffic for your website. because keyword ranking of your website. and you not get the business then what use of your keyword ranking ? so traffic is important then ranking.

Well it will be good enough for traffic but then your site and especially landing page should be very attractive and relevant to avoid high bounce rate.

High SERP Keyword ranking plays a significant role in gaining high traffic. But, it would certainly be wrong in saying that this is the only factor that can bring massive amount of traffic on your website. Though your keywords rank well in Search Engines, if your website does not posses readable and related content there is absolutely no use ranking your keywords well in Search Engines.

Yes it is true, If you have high traffic keywords with high ranking then you can get maximum visitors from search engines.

No, not all high ranking websites will generate high traffic. Even-though if you are getting a enough traffic, you will not get satisfy with your bounce rate results as you mentioned. I would say that it's all about your content that would made your visitors into conversions.

the same things happen to me .. we should not trust on the digit that google displays on the google ad word tool .my site on on the top five position for the keywords with 5400 exact search volume but traffic is less..

PR doesn't mean that you will get any traffic. it looks good on the toolbar but thats about it. back in those days, PR meant high ranking and high traffic but these days, PR is a very minor factor in google algorithm that hardly has any impact on your ranking. thats why you see high PR site with no or little traffic and high traffic site with low PR.
