I have recently studied that Google is likely to consider online merchant review as ranking factors. I have got this info from searchengineland.com. May be this news would be new in the SEO.

I find SEO a fascinating subject and I'm a believer in getting on page right before embarking on the minefield which is off page.

Well today, i was reading about document sharing because i saw a thread related to it but i think it got locked. Document sharing is something new in SEO to me at least.You can use any content (say) articles, Press releases and powerpoint presentations for Document Sharing. SEO is not merely for promotion, SEO is for search engine (look how we define SEO) promotion is just the over way of marketing to get traffic to your site.
