Hi all!

I want to make a reference to someone else's article quoting a paragraph of his site with permission. I remember I can do some tag so "the paragraph is not followed" by the search engine as I don't want to make the whole page non followed.

Which options are available and which one is the best?

Thanks a lot on advance!!

You don't get "penalised" for quoting other peoples work, with or without permission.

Agreed.. At worst, if you copy the whole page/article you might get a duplicate content filter on that one page, but even that is highly unlikely on a one page excursion.. But it most definitely will not be a "penalty"..

Yeah I agree with you.

You only get penalized if you copy one's work or content without giving any credit link for that.

Nope, you might get sued by the original author but not penalised by search engines.

I see. But how will the author know that his content was copied by someone else?

By using an exact (quoted) search for some text from the original.

Most original material authors who are concerned about plagiarists will do this and/or use copyscape

duplicate content only applies to content on your site - so if you have the same article twice on your site you will get penalized.

There are heaps of site that autoblog and pull articles from places like ezinearticles. Personally I wouldn't recommend this as you aren't really creating any added value and unique content for your readers but you won't get google slapped or anything

Their is no harm in quoting other person if he is right. Because their are people who only quote people whiteout read their instruction of individual topics. This activity can be harm like this so better read and reply is the best way to have perfect communication.

Ok, I've read it three times and still have no idea what you are trying to say!

"quote people whiteout"?

Irony?

I am trying to specify the point on the forums where people are only quote other people information without reading what they are trying to say, sometime time it's harmful if you are agree to certain communication. Which is very wrong in terms of information. So better re correct them with your reply instead of quoting and saying your right.

Right, so your comment was regarding the pointless "me too" or "I am agreeing with you" posts.

Which of course is actually NOT what this thread is about!
