backlink analysis is to see stats of backlink , outbound link (OBL) . so you can know the website value without the page rank (PR)

In seo if your working on a particular site throughout month check the back-link of that particular product so that you definitely understand which work is giving you a perfect and contextual back-link for your site. back-link can comes from several off page activity. Google can only decide which activity is performing for your website that u'll come to by checking back-link.

Hello,

It is a sort of track back or to see the results of your work means to say that when you are doing link building of any site then analysis of back links will tell you that whether you are going on the right way or not and secondly how much fruit did you get of your hard work.

Reverse Analyzer is similar to Link Harvester, except that it has downloaded the software and is also the anchor text analysis. You can take the inverse data from Google, Yahoo or MSN.

On-page factors in backlink profile analysis
When investigating backlink profiles, it’s vital to look at the pages that contain (or will contain) the link. Link builders consistently cited on-page analysis as a crucial element of backlink profile analysis.
  • Link embedded within relevant content that discusses link target
  • Title, headers, and content to see if the theme of the page is on topic
  • Text surrounding the link
  • Does the link appear paid or given freely, by editorial choice?
  • Does the page rank for its title?
  • Spam content in comments
  • The anchor text of the link
  • Page linked from other external websites
  • Proximity of the page to the root location
  • How well the page is linked to from within the website
  • The URL being Linked To (home page or deep)
  • Location of the link (on the page)
  • Number of outbound links on the page
  • Page Content (topic and amount)
  • Page back links
  • Page cache date
  • Pagerank
  • Quality of outbound links
  • Logical, appealing page layout
  • Page is bot-readable
  • Title and HX tags present?
  • Content buried under CSS and javascript?
  • Important page on the site vs. a throw-away blog post
  • Can you add directly to the discussion
  • Excessive advertising
  • Intent
  • Excessive links from link directories or blogrolls
  • Excessive links from links.PHP pages
  • Duplicate links on the same page

http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ is a good place to start - and Linkdiagnosis.com is a simple and free tool, you have to instal firefox plugin but you can download an excel doc with all links and related info.

The analysis itself is to look for a range of factors will effect the websites positioning. bad patterns include all backlinks being the same, this can happen from poor link building. if all links contian the same title text then this could apear as spammy to the search engines. Also make sure there are links to a range of pages on the site, not just the homepage. this improves the individual page values and also the overall strength of the site.
Link analysis is also a big part of online competitor analysis as it will give you an understanding of how other sites are doing well in results

You think search engines look for words like "links" in URLs? I don't.

When there are two ore more links on one page only the first is counter with it's anchor text.

In my opinion when using online back link tools, they never find all of your backlinks anyway?

I think for best monitoring, its better to use a link management script from the start. That way you remain fully aware of your backlinks position.
