I have started to submit to list of RSS sites.

I just have a doubt that submitting to these RSS are really helpful.

To start with ,the RSS is Ok. But in longer term perspective the RSS strategy is not much effective as far as my personal experience is concerned.

The real importance of RSS is that it gives visitors a chance to easily read your content. Before it was on the scene people had to visit the site, scroll through the pages and read it like normal. RSS is a way to automatically give visitors the latest information. By setting one up people will receive, in their reader, a link and a description saying that you have made a new post.
