IP plays ABSOLUTELY no part at all in SEO

HOWEVER

Search engines may use the IP of the USER to determine their location.

It helps little bit, If you have links from different ip then it also helps in site ranking.

If it helps in site ranking, then how? I don't see any reason for it to affect site rankings or what so ever.

I think IP is use to determine each user..that is why they know who have double accounts and such..also they use IP for banning..

but I don't see it's connection for ranking whatsoever.

My point of view IP address does not matter for SEO.Different IP backlink helps to increase your keyword ranking.

Are you talking about the IP of the user or the IP of the host?

IP Location DOES have a few roles in SEO! Search engines will look at the IP address to see where a site is hosted! this is not massively important but could have an issue when you are looking to achieve results for local searches. Also check your IP address if you are on a shared hosting plan. Search engines can block a whole range of IP addresses which will certainly have a negative effect.

Not any more. The ccTLD is more important than the IP ever was. Search Engine engineers are far more aware than the "SEO experts" are that people don't always host in the same country they expect visitors from.
