Intro: Search engines are in the business of finding REAL THINGS and showing them to people with REAL BRAINS so all these little children, of all ages, just children because they have no concept of responsibility, who want to imagine they can pull the wool over the eyes of software systems, manned networks and financed corporations about whether their completely FALSE and FRAUDULENT websites which are made ONLY TO MAKE MONEY and are just faff, a waste of space, completely should not be there, have NO purpose but to make money without doing any work, without providing anything real to anyone at all, without it being FAIR money, are clearly very very very desperate. They need to wake up and do some real work. Most of them need to get off line and go and do a proper job and stop giving those of us who DO work out here a bad name.

Okay I tried reading a bit of the sticky thread about hats but these things are long and dated, in life, so I want to refresh the point, assuming someone made it.

WHAT is 'white hat' (or to deter people from racism, let's call it, universal colour hat) "seo" - optimizing your site with search engines in mind (and the ways they deliver info, and find info)?

What categories could you split this into? There's a variety of aspects of managing and developing your online presence which need to be done with thought and care...

primarily...

WHITE HAT...

1. What you sell, broadcast is legit, meaningful, professional
2. You pay your dues, are over 18, register your company,
have longterm plans which can be understood and pursued
3. You create business, not faff, you are not a "homeworker",
you are a part of the industrial complex, you provide TO society
you don't leech FROM it, you are the backbone of industry

[[YES, a search engine is not just looking at words on a page, it's trying to look at WHO you are, WHAT you do, whether people think you do what you do as much as you think you do or say you do, etc. A search engine has a real purpose. YOU may want to make stuff that only pretends to do something but bing and yahoo and google and any other major commercial search network wants to lead people to real things where they can spend money on real things and make real money for the commercial world, money which can truly be called earnings, because somebody got something for it, there was no 'something for nothing' inbolved]]

on the website itself, the design is paramount:

1. Make it fast
2. Make it neat
3. Make it very cross-platform friendly (aka simple)
because it's not just other machines, browsers,
and os's, it's even ******n portable devices now,
and if it ain't simple, it may break in transit

then in your wording...

here's the BAD WILL DIE OFF WEBSITE IS RUBBISH rules...
1. if you choose keywords and titles specifically for a 'traffic' result -
doing that will KILL YOUR SITE forever, asap, when the robots
find you and match your behaviour to the list of things which are
immoral and stupid
2. if you write content ONLY because it will get traffic, and hits,
to ads you have deals with purveyors of, and don't really
know anything about what your content is about, nor spend
any money getting any acceptable commercially valuable
knowledge of that, whatever it may be
3. if you write in a second language you are rubbish at (usually this is english)
4. if you are just a thief
5. if you are a liar
6. a cheat
7. a fellon
8. an antisocial person
9. a public enemy, low ranking

and here's the list of what you MUST do... with regard to KEYWORDS and TITLES and PHRASES and TEXT and ARTICLES...

1. Write excellently in the first language of your users
2. Write content about which you have years of in depth experience and could be published professionally, and therefore your writing is part of a broader activity and understanding
3. Find yourself producing a website after having chosen a valid and meaningful field to build it in.

If you are just producing crap, just copying what 1000s of idiots do and making some rubbish using templates and other people's stuff, with no input of your own other than to blag and be LAZY and TAKE money that belongs to people who work hard, you will end up facing the hostility of those with more wit and wisdom as well as more financial and technological strength.

But these mistakes are not limited to the little stragglers posting a million spam rubbishes a year, even many a silly company emerges out of the bubbling sea sometimes, only to fall again, The amazons and ebays come and go, and end up just soulless machines in the hands of non-techies because they were never anything decent. Facebook, twitter, diggit, reddit, arsewit, sillyrubbish and pileofjunk will ALL end up on deadbeat alley with amazon and ebay one day. I wonder if yahoo and msn will join them? And google, and youtube. I mean who uses Netscape. Who has any idea what "Anarchie" was. What's FTP gonna mean in another 10 years? One by one the giants rise. One by one they fall.

Lie and cheat. Go ahead. You think it bothers me? Hah.
