Hi. I've read a lot about keyword meta tag. And I plan to put it on my blog. But I just wonder how importance it is in 2011? Can someone give opinions? Thanks.

The meta keywords tag allows you to provide additional text for crawler-based search engines to index along with your body copy.

I have a wordpress blog and i'm using All in one seo pack plugin to add title, keywords and description. And it works well, after adding keywords and description, google indexes my blog more quickly.

Probably about as "important" as it was in 2000,2001,2002,2003 etc.

Pure speculation because Google would not "know" about such changes until the pages had been indexed.

And "more quickly" is gramatically incorrect.

chrishirst is absolutely right.

Google does not use the keywords meta tag for rankings. You can see this straight from the horses mouth:

As per my opinion presently google is giving importance to title and description tags to get ranked in search results.

The META Keywords Tag is where you list keywords and keyword phrases that you've targeted for that specific page. You can Use a keyword meta-tag to list key words for the document. Use a distinct list of keywords that relate to the specific page on your site instead of using one broad set of keywords for every page.

I think Meta descriptions are too very important for website promotion. If you can not write proper description than search engine may ignore to visit your website.
