I am looking to run some SEO experiments to prove or disprove certain SEO theories and beliefs. I would love to get your thoughts.

For example on a basic level-

Theory - Keyword in domain improves rankings
Experiments -
  1. Choose keyword with low competition.
  2. Register two domains - 1) exact keyword 2) different domains
  3. Put same content on both domains
  4. See which site ranks higher
This is on a very basic level and we all know what the outcome would be.

It would be great if you guys could suggest some SEO experiments that you would like to see and how they would done?

And how do you propose to:

Avoid the filtering of duplicate content.
Ensure that:
the random rotation of datacentres -
personalised results -
Google cookies -
random links (using the hostname as the anchor text) -

From skewing the "results"?

And let's be realistic, for just about every search you could do, there may be ONE placing that "proves" the theory, and NINE others that DISPROVE it!!

I understand the results will never be 100% conclusive but I am sure you would be able to identify trends and correlations.

What do you think? or do you think this is a waste of time?

The only way you would see trends and correlations would be to run the "test" over four pairs of "sites" with one pair having both hostnames without "keywords" as a control set. Testing with

Or much easier is to actually OBSERVE what goes on with the index.

keyword in domain --- this is the good to optimized the website, but it is not important. it should be certain and specific keyword. link building should be on that keyword.
long tail keywod -- long tail keyword one of the best way to optimized the website. by which website would be on rank.

This is not a regurgitated information that you see anywhere else. The last three consecutive years in MLM Review Kings have bought more than 50 courses, has tested a lot of different styles and carried out a series of experiments SEO.
