Backlinks are extremely important for search engine rankings. They show the search engines that your site is worthy of linking to and relevant to certain search queries. Here are 6 tips to help you increase your backlinks
#1 Great Quality Content
Make sure you regularly update your site with quality content that provides useful information to people. This can act as link bait which means it is used to hopefully fish for links. This will only happen if you content, whether it be an article, video or audio file is so great that people want to link to it.
#2 Social Network
Make sure it is easy for people to share your site and content to their friends and networks. Add social buttons such as facebook, twitter, digg, delicious etc to encourage people to share your site. There is nothing worst than writing great content that people want to tell their friends about but can't
#3 Forum Communities
Make sure you register to forums within your industry or topic and contribute to the community. Join the conversation and simply place a link in your signature. Don't actively promote it. If people want to know more they will click on it themselves. Remember NEVER to spam forums.
