You know long tail keywords get high rank fast as compared to short keywords. So your mail keyword ll take some time to high rank. You can focus some more quality work for your main keyword.

"So your mail keyword ll take some time to high rank"

The site is over 10 years old, that is not the reason

You need to make a little change in your keyword but also have to expand earning backlinks for the same keyword.

So out of 2.8 million competing pages what makes your page so important or different from the rest??

Could be that your competitors have a higher density of the keyword "airport Parking"

I noticed you use the term "airport car park" much more on your home page.

Example 1
Whilst Flypark offers cheap parking on the airports, off airport car parks can save up to 60% compared to the airport gate price but early booking is recommended because these car parks always fill up first due to their excellent value.

You could change that to "airport parking"

Example 2
Choose from over 10 Gatwick airport car parks including both on and off airport when booking your Gatwick parking online. Gatwick Meet and Greet service is also available and the new hybrid Return Greet.

Could change to "airport parking sites"

Just an idea, i'm sure i'll be told it makes no difference in a minute

That's not a problem, you just can't have all of your keywords ranked on the same time at the same position. Each keyword has different level of competition which makes them ranked differently.

Page not site! Only pages appear in the SE results and you are simply wasting time and effort looking into the vagiaries of why page "A" appears at 'N' for keyword "Y".

You simply do not have enough facts to find out why.

Am I correct if I say, long tail keywords rank fast because they have less competition compared to short keywords? Can we consider this as one of the reason?

its so tough to get better ranking on a very competitive keyword better way to work on that is thru long tail, where you can target your main keyword while getting traffic using long tail.

run your site through a "keyword density tool"

Run it through a PR checking website as well.

Compare this to the other site.

Buy your domain name for a couple more years upfront, this helps your seo.

This really has to be one of the strangest suggestions I have ever seen on here...
