Not my site - a SEO Consultant has just proposed it as a good thing. Anyone care to comment on offerings and prices?

I wouldn't pay a penny to any so called "SEO" company or consultants.

Why pay, when all the resources you need are available for free?

I can't say anything about the particular site linked to, but I wouldn't automatically say no to hiring out seo services. I don't because I do the work myself, but assuming the company you hire is legit (a big "if" I know) why is it any different than hiring a marketing firm or an advertising agency?

If you could pay $500 a month to bring back $1500 in profit doesn't it make sense to do that? Again I'm assuming it's all done in a legit way.

I think we'd all agree there are more non legit seo companies out there than legit ones, but I don't think that means the whole industry is bad. It's more for us to find those that actually do good work and make sure not to hire those that don't.

I charge $50/hour. However, I don't make stupid promises like getting someone ranked on the first page in a competitive niche. Nor do I rank my clients on the first page that does not have any search value (where nobody is looking up).

I just keep on stumbling around and use the SEO money for beer...

And I have managed some page ones ...over the years......

I wouldn't pay anything for it, just google it and then you will find great tips how to, and then do yourself, save the money to invest in another site part (ads, promotions)
