SEO link building can be very tricky. Techniques vary and their effectiveness even more so. There are thousands of resources online offering guidance and advice, making sure your links are quality and productive. Posting links with a scattergun approach will only cause you problems down the line.
Google page rank depends heavily on content which is cross linked throughout the Internet – that is to say the more ‘quality’ websites that link to yours, the better rankings you will achieve. Thus SEO link building is a major part of generating traffic for any website.
Can someone please explain to me why SEO Link Building is so important? How does it actuallt work? Surely if I just submit my site to Google it can scan through, see that its relevant and add it to the listings? I am confused!
Many companies will offer to generate over 300 cross-linked websites for a fixed fee; I wouldn’t bother. If they are cross linking every customer they receive, it just results in a large number of unrelated sites linking to each other and Google will see straight through it. Much better is to spend some time creating organic, natural traffic through a smaller number of quality, relent links.
Do I need a dedicated team to monitor and improve my SEO link building or is it something I can have done on day one, after which it naturally carries on (as I am now listed on hundreds of sites). I hired an online form to do the job but I only seem to be getting a couple of hits per day from the new links!
I’ve been working on my SEO link building for several months now and I am pleased to report there are some techniques that definitely work. As I see it the key is to keep the linking sites relevant…. use common sense! For example, if you have an automotive parts business, don’t create a link to a childcare forum; link it to car forums, tyre suppliers and social networks with an interest in automotive sites, etc.
