Both are correct and it depends upon the DTD which one you use.

... /> would be correct for XHTML DTD's

... > would be correct for HTML DTD's

many thanks chris I would give you more talkupathon but ur maxed out lol ive been searching for an answer for that for days now, even went on Google forums and no one told me

MyDTD is
"-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"

So i should be using the first one with the /> at the end then <LINK rel="<font" color="#0000ff">

<FONT color=#000080>Correct just to double check lol?

Hmm so ive been trying to add this canonicle to my page with phpfox

But the canonicle is coming up in every page on my website.

Im guessing thiis is pretty bad ? as wouldnt it try to 301 every page I added it to back to the homepage ?

Not sure how exactly it works

I am trying to do it with the metatag is there any other way to do it at all ? I cant use 301s btw

I wouldn't even worry about it too much or add a php redirect to every page.
