I've just read a PM from one who shall be nameless enquiring why I am so negative with SEO matters, and always tell you things NOT to do rather than telling you what to do.
Well
The reasons are:
I do not necessarily know what your pages or your marketplace actually needs, Nobody does unless they are involved in that same marketplace.
The SEO "experts" you read are similarly handicapped, they do not know what YOUR needs are either.
SEO is NOT a one size fits all option, each marketplace and each site is different and needs a different approach. There is no pseudo scientific formula for success.
SEO needs a guess, test, adapt approach. And if something is not working, CHANGE IT don't push on trying more of the same because it isn't going to work.
Not every marketplace needs massive amounts of links to ONE page, but every page needs individual links
What YOU need to realise is that YOU are a user of Search, SEO is aimed at the USERS of Search does it therefore not make common sense that YOU should know what people like yourself would find useful or interesting when searching for something?
You do NOT need me telling you what to do, and if you do fine, I'll send you an invoice.
All you need to know is that you are your intended target market and you should be able to figure out what you would do to attract yourself into purchasing a product, or finding one of the adverts useful.
There really is no science involved, no magic beans and no secret sauce, just common sense.
I have always found Search Marketing incredibly simple because I have never considered that I am marketing TO the search engines, I have always been marketing USING search engines as a medium to reach USERS.
You can do exactly the same.
