I am not sure how much W3C validation matters for SEO? i mean its very much important or somewhat important. If everything is good on my site still my keyword position is dropping so could css and html errors be the reason of that?

W3C validation ensures the website developers to make sure that the website is completely free from errors. Lack of quality backlinks can drop the position of your keyword

I think that big errors like unclosed tags, dead links can count in SEO. Maybe it's better to focus on page size and speed.

Aaaargh. A mod has posted two links which, one assumes, answer the OP thoroughly. Why then do two idiots insist on further replying with incorrect and unwanted posts? Search crawlers don't see sig links here people, no need to waste your time trying.
