Your question is very broad so it is difficult to give you a clear cut answer. Basically when starting up a website you should ensure you do necessary on page SEO. This means that you build and optimize your site for the search engines.
For on-page seo you should consider things like:
* URL Structure
* Page Title Tags
* Quality content
* Image ALT attributes
* much more
SEO and traffic building is a long process. Don't expect to do 1 thing and all of a sudden have a flood of traffic visiting your site.
Set small goals like 50 visitors/day and then 100 so on and so on.
Oli Gardner from unbounce released an awesome infographic - Noob Guide to Online Marketing. This might be a good starting point for you. It is a 6 month guide which will help you and your site build traction and traffic.
Maybe offer some free graphics on your site. People search for freebies more often.

You have sites about advertising in your sig. Yet, you are asking about how to get traffic?
You are giving the appearance of either scamming (because your advertising doesn't work for you) or, just using the forum for link dropping.

I think you should mention about your SEO techniques.Go for some link building tactics like article syndication,directory submission, video submission,social bookmarking and networking,Blog commenting,e.t.c.

Just go for offpage activities like article submission, hubpages, press release submission, bookmarking, classified, dir submission for both link building and to increase traffic for your site.
