I'm working on a site who I feel has a lot of bad and spammy links. I want to go about removing these links and then working to get new higher quality ones.

I know this is a rather noob question so I appreciate any help. What is the process of removing bad links in a scalable manner?

Thanks

Inbound or outbound? If it's inbound just remove the link ASAP, remove spammy links will be beneficial, if it's outbound, take your time, unless your website are has been slapped and can be changed dramatically.

If they are links TO your pages just leave as there is little you can do about it, and who links to you doesn't hurt.

If they are links on your pages just remove them.

Nope. (I think)

inbound are links POINTING to your pages which you have no control over, so how are you going to remove them???

Outbound links are on YOUR pages which you have control over and therefore CAN remove them.
