My friend consult a professional to improve search engine rankings and one of the first thing they do or recommend was to change the title tags just to ensure that his site will get the chance to get a higher ranking in Google.

However, he is not contented with the result, if you're in his shoes what will you do?

A professional what? As reading of threads here will show, SEO is not that simple and the role of the TITLE tag was downgraded several years ago. I suggest your friend gets his money back.

I pretty much agree with what you say. I don't think that Title tag can have much of an impact as far as ranking is concerned. What title does, it help your site to display properly in the search result especially the your site pages.

Title tag plays an important role in the organic search results. It is very important for any site to get high ranked. If you are targeting keywords different to title or title has no concern with keywords, then i think i will be a waste of time in doing seo.

Make sure the Title Tag has some of the targeted keywords so it is more effective for your website rankings!
