You want to do both, cause both can bring some good trafiic to your site.

Articles are more valuable to search engines because it's good content rich with keywords.

Forum links is good for backlinks building, it would be good if you get links on high PR forums and reputable forums related to your niche.

I think forum posting is much more effective.

I think both are ok to do, I don't think 1 is better then the other. There are better ways of getting traffic to your site. A mix of social media and social bookmarking if done right could get you a lot of traffic.

Only related,reputed forums with good traffic can help you establish your brand and bring niche traffic.Unique and informative articles also bring traffic but it depends on its usefulness and exposure .

Yeah. Guess so too. Speaking of which, Did Tycoontalk experience any drops in rankings? Couldn't check if there are any related articles. Do direct me if there are.

Both are helpful to get traffic as well as quailty backlinks.But If you ll get some extra exposure then give more importance to articles because through articles you can get huge traffic and backlinks if people syndicate your article on their website if your article ll have good quality.

When you want to SEO your site, You have to do both. To get Traffic on your site I think Article liks more works then forum. because in Article you have to use genuine content with good keywords which gives you help to get traffic. And in forum you have to write your post on particular forum's subject. which is not much useful then article.

According to me there are more visitor on forum than articles, if you will make link on forums then you will get traffic and if you make link on article you will get quality traffic.

I think forum is the best way to get quality backlinks and even forum updated on daily basis.
