For enhancing knowledge you should participate in Yahoo Answers. Is it good or something more required?

Well this may be a SEO question as you can anchor a websites link if you are able to reach level 7 in yahoo answers. Once that is achieved for sure you can get quality backlinks for your domain.

I find Yahoo Answers more for getting quick traffic to your site, as you can leave a link in the source or just direct people to your profile to check links out.

Nope Links are PROMOTION NOT optimisation.

Do you honestly think that search engines haven't devalued the spam filled garbage dump that Yahoo! answers has become???

Because if I was a search engineer, links at Yahoo answers would have NEGATIVE weighting.

Maybe to others, but if you're really want to enhance your knowledge try Wikipedia instead it's more reliable.

I've been participating in Yahoo Answers. Yes you can bring traffic to your website once you participate there because you can recommend your website if someone is looking for an information related to your site.

I agree with Marcus, you can get some good traffic if you are a reliable source of information and answer questions with links to your website. Might not help out SEO but definitely will get some good traffic.

I have also been participating in yahoo/aol answers aside from blog commenting, directories submission, social bookmarking, for two months now but no, even if I was voted for best answer, still drives less traffic in my site. I wish there's something else that could be done aside from improving my site.

i rarely post on yahoo answer, though it gives traffic but not much..so i give more time on other methods that helps me boost my site stats
