Here is an awesome infographic that talks about using content for SEO.

It's interesting to see the overlaps in content, social and SEO

As per usual they are still stuck in the 1995 thinking that links are part of SEO!!

Nice and visiable post here, I always think content is the most important, but sometimes I do think social media is really a nice way to drive traffic.

First of all, it’s my first post and really I got great statistical report about it. Yes, content is very important and it should be created by own word. Mostly people (non technical) copy other writer’s content. We all must be read other article but only for taking inspiration.

To be on the first pages - the use of keywords are indispensable. We just can't ignore them.
Keywords should be contained in the title of the entire pages and in the headings inside the content.
The keywords should have their presence in side the content throughout.

According to your theory, if I wanted the term "Barack Obama" all I would need to do is include that keyword phrase in my title and header tags and I will get page 1?

I think that post sums up the ethos of clueless SEOs quite nicely.

Why on earth do people seem surprised the content is "important for SEO"??????

I mean, content has only been important for optimising since 1993, so it's not as if it is breaking news or anything.

It's nothing to do with "These days". ALL search engines since the days of Altavista have used content for deciding what page to show to their users and at what position to show it.

How in [insert name of Deity]'s name do you think that the "inner" (meaning NOT the "home" page) pages of ANY website appear in search engine results for far, far more words or phrases than are EVER used in a "link building campaign".
How do you think "the long tail of search" words came about.

Did you think these things happen by magic???

Well, if you did, I have news for you:
Santa Claus is your Dad dressed up and it's NOT the Stork that brings babies.

content is king and it should be unique. Your keyword should be inside the content and anchor tag to bring visibility in the search engine ranking.

Content in my experience are most likely use to target users/searchers "only". Yes, fresh contents will show in the SERP but not for TOO LONG. And you can't do something to make a particular content stay specially if it was posted for quite a long time.

So targeting to have a good ranking in SERP using contents will only waste your time IMO. Target users/searchers with interesting content that sends traffic to your site rather than struggling to use it as a tool for having a good SERP ranking.

Oh come on! Keywords are not just the meaning of SEO... in my experience, I get more hits to some of my websites from queries, not just a certain keyword.
