Is optimization working for anyone right now (besides those of you who optimize sites for money)?

It seems like longevity and fresh content do more to improve rankings than does keyword research. Or do I think that because I believe a lot of KW research is still just guessing--especially if your tech gives you 7500 terms to optimize for and place ads on...then the algorithms change.

When SEO is done PROPERLY 10,000 words or phrases wouldn't be a problem, and algorithm changes make little or no difference.

I agree, on-site optimization and good content are, and probably always will be the king.

I have got a site to number 1 for a decent keyword with hardly any backlinking at all and I just made sure the on-site stuff was perfect. Internal links, external, meta tags, keyword density blah blah.

Also the big G loves fresh, new, unique content. Give that to them alone and watch your site improve in the SERP's. Problem is this all takes time and most people are impatient (me included!) and I think that's why most people try and speed up the process by using 10000 backlink packs! Whether that's a good route to take on its own I'm not so sure...

You just need pay more engery and time for that many words to optimize. such work is always done through a team but not a single person.

And we've got a site top without hardly any content. Just link building or just on-page optimisation may work where the competition is poor, but in most cases both are needed. Those who seem to think content in king and nothing else matters have been proven wrong time and time again. It doesn't matter how good your content is if the search engines can't find it.
