Hello friends,
Facing a small problem please advise me what should be done in this situation?
Client has given some keywords but all the keywords are not targeting the main page but some of them are coming in search with inner pages of website. So to target all the keywords for home page do I have to start the SEO from the first step?
Members please give your valuable suggestions.
Thanks

Clients are stupid, YOU are supposed to be the expert.

Mind you, not much of one if you think that there is only one page for "targeted keywords"

Now let's see if this sinks now I hopefully have got you doubting what you believed.

Search engines and visitors don't care about the "home page".

Users want to land on the page that matches their query

Search engines want to show their users the most appropriate page for their query

SO if you make ALL of the pages on a website have the appropriate targeted words or phrases why shouldn't search engines show those pages rather than the home page.

I agree about the page not mattering.

However, if you already are receiving natural home page links, you might as well add some more and put keywords on the homepage. However, do not ignore side pages, they will convert better as they are more relevant to the search terms, or at least they should be

Look let me tell you the secret just started keyword research and then divide by 3 to no of keywords.make a pair of 3 keyword and then allot all three keywords pair to a particular page.By this strategy it is easy to get ranking if you have sufficient content on your page

How do you make a pair of three?

A pair is TWO and three is a trio (and a little perverse in some cases )

I can usually figure out even the worst "SEO" replies but this one has me stumped!

Chris, do I have to add perverse and perverted to my Common English Errors post?

Not unless you are looking to pervert the course of the English language in some obstinately perverse manner If you will forgive my tautological adjunct there of course.

Now THAT I cannot believe! Everything I have ever come across has more than a few words or phrases the people use to describe it or refer to it.

Even something as fundamental as soil has dozens of different terms depending on the context that is being discussed.

But this isn't the case, Chris. The site consists of 5 pages with one word on each page.

To me it seems you will have to start from first step do not know what it is. But I think the main page might need more optimization for the keyword used in it and also more keyword research should be done to find more relevant keywords, phrases for the pages and optimize them accordingly.

Sorry if my post was not helpful but that is the best I can offer with my current SEO knowledge.

Do you know what a landing page is? If you don't, just google it and read about it.

Now, I would begin with the webpages that are already showing up for "some of the words", as you say. I would give them a boost and make them rank highly.

Then, if you still have keywords left that no pages are ranking for, create brand-new landing pages and optimize them for those keywords.

So you suggest create landing pages just to help your optimization? No, do not do that. You couldn't be anymore wrong.

You know what is the best in their site. You must not like a robot who just follow what the client wanted. You must explain it well to him/her what you know is best.

I'm not saying this to try to sound mean. But if you have to ask this question, why do you even have a client? Exactly what are they paying you for? You obviously have no clue about SEO.

The "Main Page" what is that? Do you mean the "Home Page"?

If you had any SEO chops at all, you would know that interior pages and posts rank just as easily as home pages.

I crank out posts while my competitors register domains. My blog posts always outrank them.

If you are charging any money for SEO, then you're screwing them.

But who knows, maybe you're just here to build backlinks that aren't getting crawled anyway.

Either way, you're bark'in up the wrong tree.

Rant finished

Sorry
