Hello can somebody give general guidelines for SEO if we have a forum?

Is it different from Websites? Should we bother about mod_rewrite and all that.

Would like to hear form someone who has some experience in this.

Generally it is the same as any other website.

The mian things to worry about are the title tags and the URL. Personally I think the best set up is to have the threads title in the title tags if posssible you can see a example here: http://www.webworkshop.net/seoforum/...pic.php?t=9145

Also the other key problem with a lot of forum is the URL can be so long that it is ofter hard to get the pages indexed. So using modrewrite would be very useful also if you could get the title of the tag into the URL that would help.
