Hi,

I'm trying to do a major seo revamp of my site as we are just not getting hits.

I have realised that my keyword density is not correct, but even on words like 'cycle staffordshire' which we have plenty of are not showing up.

I also have a pagerank of 3, I've worked hard to get incoming links and we are on DMOZ, and Yahoo, why is my pagerank low??.

I just wanted to check that it's not something glaringly obvious before I start digging deeper.

Thanks for your help

Assuming the site in your profile, what's to rank ????

1 page 3 links 14 words.

Keyword density is a non-existent metric made up and bandied about as gospel truth by "experts" http://www.webmaster-talk.com/seo-ta...e-factors.html

PageRank as shown on the toolbar is also a useless thing to be watching.

Tips for newbies

Google penalises pages displaying the W3C validation symbol, when they don't validate?

Just kidding.

You rank number 1 when I search for "cycle staffordshire", so I don't really see the problem.

well not the worlds most competitive phrase Does it bring any sales?

It will probably be bringing a few hits now this thread is up of course, and this thread will likely be on the first page along side your site very soon as well

Realistically you need to make use of the resources you have and could expand on, the essentials page, basic maintenance even the hire page. All these could be greatly improved and target more traffic
It looks like you have been following "formula SEO" rather than trying to build a good site.

Hi,

Thanks for your input.

I'm interested in your comments Chris. The keyword 'cycle staffordshire' is not the keyword we are mostly interested in, hence me realising that i need to put more effort into the keyword density.

I wanted to ask, why do you think that I have designed the site around SEO rather than trying to build a good site, I would appreciate some honest feedback on this as I have actually tried to build a good site first and SEO has only come into it because I recognise the importance, so have I failed miserably and need to get working.

Appreciate your help!!
