If a spider is comparing words, does it treat them differently if the case is different, e.g. if it's 'fish' in the meta keywords but 'Fish' at the start of a sentence in the content?

Why not simple try it? If the result returned by search engines differs depending on case, they they are probably case-sentitive.

I just quickly tested with google and msn. They return the same result no matter how you use case. And it also makes sense if you think about it. A FISH is a fish :-)

The case shouldn't matter at all. Though of course since you're talking about meta keywords it will matter even less since the major search engines basically ignore them anyway.
