Hi ,

Ive receently noticed that the urls that i have purchased around about 20 are not being redirected to the main domain of the site and i also have the following issues which i'm not entirely sure about :
I would like any advice on the issues i have noticed , ive read a recent post but this does not reccommended any actions to take. I'm worried that if i redirect all the other URLS links from those doamins will cease and hurt rankings? I'm aware we could be being penalised for duplicate content aswell. I'm not too sure which path to follow as at present this has not created an issues as yet as far as i'm aware.

what do people think?

Looking to the long term, you really are going to need to choose one of the four and 301 permanent redirect the others to that one. If you don't mind which one, then check the backlinks to each one, perhaps use that to choose?

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you're wanting, but if I am understanding right then it's just like Paul said. Pick the domain you want to use long term and then use 301 redirects on all the other domains to point to the one you want to use.

I'm not sure what you mean by the links from the domains ceasing. Are the different domains linking to each other? And if so do they all have the same content?

Yeah the pages will probably be considered duplicates and the search engines may ultimately only disply one for any search result. I'm guessing all four domains are on the same server in which case there really isn't going to be a lot of wieght behind the links.

It's probably best to pick either the .com or the .co.uk domain and redirect everything else to the appropriate page on that domain using a 301. I like to point everything to the www version and it seems common for most sites, though it really won't make a difference whether you use the www or the non www.
