According to my experience If you want to get 5000 backlinks then you need minimum 3 month time you cannot do this within 2 week i think so but to get 5000 backlinks you need to work very hard and try to do link building like
Link Exchange ( Reciprocal and 3 way )
Directory submission.
Article submission
Social bookmarking etc.....

If you want to get back link to your site then you have to submit directory article and press release and also forum submission, you can link exchange also.

I am not a fan of link exchange. I think its always better to have oneway links. Link exchange have the risk of bad neighbor which will lead penalization by SE.

Link exchanging is not the way to go. These links seldom look natural to Google.

Start with directory submissions, forum postings (link in signature), blog commenting and article submissions.

Once you've got a good base of links, promote your content via press releases. If your content is good enough, you'll get lots of valuable and natural back links.

Look around for any web 2.0 sites in your particular field. Web 2.0 sites are built with user content so you can control the on page linking. Try Squidoo for a start.

I'm surprised the article misses the most effective and one of the best ways to get backlinks.

Create content that is useful and interesting. When you have interesting stuff on your site, folks will naturally link to it. When it has genuinely useful information, people will just link to it.
