Is their anyway to get Google to pickup the backlinks it's missing?

There are a few things you should know about Google, they don't update the Public Page Rank Ranking every day, they only do so every 2 - 3.5 months.
You should not do a lot of reciprocal linking because with the Google Jagger Update, it means they will notice it and maybe even penalize you for it. If you want to do Link Exchanges, do 3-Way Link Exchanges:
A -> B
B -> C
A and C are another webmaster's websites and B is your website.
Also, having links on Blog websites a lot isn't helpful from my opinion. They are good for traffic. If you mean you have been doing Blog Comment Spam, that's bad, because Google does find out and penalize for that, even though they ARE links.
Also, Google does not display ALL the backlinks they have acknowledged, they do have their own private version of it, so you never know. You should know that a BackLink Update is not always the same time as a Page Rank Update and they might randomly do a BL Update anytime.
