I just dont understand Yahoo , i ahev about 200 keywords that i optimize for , all of whihc are within the first 2 pages of google , but are no where to be seen in yahoo...well ...they are all like ranking 100's . how can they be so far off? surely if most of my site ranks well in google then at least some results hsould transfer to yahoo? What am i doing wrong? Ive had alook at the top sites in google and their link data is far inferior to my sites?

site in question : directline-holidays.co.uk

type nealry anything into google , like maldives holidays or turkey holidays , all inclusive holidays or cheap holidays etc and we are there ...in yahoo nowhere?

To be honest i wouldn't worry at all about that.
by changing things to optimise for yahoo you may lose ranking in google, Which is the last thing you want.

What i would do is leave everything as it is and hope yahoo eventually catch up.

They have two different algorithms so are going to have two different results for the same query. I do much better with Google myself than I do with Yahoo or MSN, though since I'm pretty sure I'll get more traffic through Google I'm fine with it for the moment.

If I had to guess I'd say you've been working to get more quality links instead of just quantity. I think Google is ahead of Yahoo as far as giving more weight to quality linking. Just a guess though.

Google is more common in English/American countries...I went to India and everybody uses Yahoo! over there!

Because Yahoo! is starting to peg you dead to rights and Google hasn't yet.

Something doesn't add up here.

The site has a DMOZ listing for Sri Lankan holidays; there at least 5 other sites of the same theme on the same IP; and there are similar sites on slightly different IPs.

Sounds like you've got a little network link farm going on. The only weird thing is that Yahoo! figured it out and big G didn't.

Yahoo have always been quickest at whacking out the duplicated networked affiliate type sites

Brother, try to get many many links in a week. Set up a monthly link target grab maximum links possible every week and will not have to worry about ranking anymore. Also yes few things:

1:- From Different IP.

2:- No Link Farm

3:- Link page should have less but potential links.

4:- Page should be indexed by search engine. Try to avoide link page with Robot.txt.

Brother try this and no one can stop you.

With Respect.

Ashoke.
